Venceslao Do Rego back at UNTL after first round of training at Charles Darwin University Library
|
Venceslao Do Rego, the Head Librarian at UNTL Library, has completed his first round of training at Charles Darwin University Library, as part of funding obtained by the Friends of UNTLL from the Myer Foundation.
He, along with two other academics from UNTL, arrived on 26th January and commenced English language classes the next day. While Venceslao spent most of his time learning English, he also spent two afternoons a week observing various processes in the Library, and getting some hands on experience with the various Dynix modules as well. So far he has spent time with staff in Administration, Acquisitions, and Serials, with Cataloguing, Lending and Reference, and Shelving to go. A visit to the local Darwin Public Libraries, and Northern Territory Library was also arranged.
He returned to Dili on the 28th February and hopes to return for the second round of training in August. He hopes to spend more time in the Library during the second trip.
